Relief Chiropractic, LLC was opened by Dr. Amanda Engelhard in January 2011. Dr. Engelhard is a Marceline native, graduating from Marceline High School in 2002. She continued her education at Cleveland Chiropractic College (CCC) graduating in 2010 with both a Bachelor of Science Degree and Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree.
The current curriculum includes over 4400 hours of instruction in Basic, Diagnostic and Clinical Sciences. As well as studying under the guidance of the clinicians at CCC, Dr. Engelhard gained further experience through her internship at Advanced Health Chiropractic and Nutrition in Higginsville, MO and an externship at the Kansas City Free Health Clinic.
Dr. Engelhard has experience in many different techniques including Activator, Thompson Technique, and Diversified. Activator utilizes a hand-held adjusting instrument that is designed to administer small, quick controlled bursts of thrust to the spinal column and its supporting muscles, allowing chiropractors to re-align the spine quickly, easily, and precisely.
Thompson Techniques uses an adjusting table with a segmented drop system, which quickly lowers the section of the patient’s body corresponding with the spinal region being adjusted. The doctor thrusts at high speed, using minimal force, because while the thrust initiates movement, the fast drop carries the joint through the remainder of its range of motion.
Diversified adjusting of the spine uses specific lines of drives for all manual thrusts, allowing for specificity in correcting mechanical distortions of the spine. Its focus is on restoration to normal biomechanical function, and correction of subluxation. A subluxation is when one or more of the bones in your spine move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate nerves.

"Our people make the difference."
That is one of the founding principles of the only family-owned yearbook company in the world, Walsworth Publishing Company. And it is also a big reason why the company is firmly positioned as one of the top printing companies in North America.
The company has come a long way since 1937, when Don, Ed and Bill Walsworth formed the Walsworth Brothers company and began to sell ads for plays being produced around the neighboring states. After World War II, Walsworth sales people spread across the country selling ads for plays, but now had added cookbooks, veteran organization books and what was to become the company's main product -- yearbooks.
In 1956, the Walsworths changed the name of the company to Walsworth Publishing Company, Inc. The change in name did not bring a change to the production and supremacy of yearbooks. With each spring came the frenzy of the "busy season", followed by a period of layoffs of personnel as production slowed down. This layoff period was somewhat alleviated when the company began selling some schools on the idea of having their yearbooks delivered in the fall instead of just the spring. This created two busy seasons and a more stable employment picture.
Don Walsworth, son of one of the founders, began working with the company in 1957 and became president in 1967. As president, Don continued to be concerned with the annual layoffs of skilled employees and having valuable equipment standing idle during non-yearbook production periods.
The problem was partially solved in 1974 when the company created a Commercial Book Division. Prior to this, Walsworth had been printing some commercial books and doing reprints of books, but now this was to be done through a different sales organization than yearbook sales representatives. Now yearbook people could service their customers better by concentrating on schools, and commercial customers would be speaking to representatives knowledgable in printing needs.
These changes were accompanied by the expansion and modernization of facilities and equipment. By 1986, the company had expanded to a block-long company headquarters in downtown Marceline, a major book finishing plant in Marceline and a pre-press facility in Brookfield. This expansion continued with the opening of a Yearbook Division sales office in Kansas City, and the company grew again with another expansion effort in 1990.
Today, Walsworth employs more than 1,400 people, from manufacturing and administrative personnel to sales representatives based all over the world. More than 90 employees have 20 or more years of service to the company, and Walsworth boasts more than 600 employees who have attained the status of Master Printer of America.
In a world of constantly evolving technology, Walsworth Publishing Company stays ahead of the trends by finding the latest methods of book publishing. And as its technological opportunities grow, the company continues to explore the best ways to use its employees' abilities to help customers.
"In the past four years, our company has invested over $20 million in technology and equipment; however, the key to our success is our loyal and dedicated employees, some of whom are third generation," Don Walsworth said. "Our competition can buy the same equipment, build the same size buildings and use the same raw materials. But they are not as successful as we are because our people have found unique ways to use these factors to create a quality book. That's why our people set us apart from our competition and have made us a leader in the yearbook and commercial book industry."
